About Clyde Branch

For Yachtsmen there are yachts to charter and a programme of racing available to join in within the Clyde and surrounding areas. There is also the opportunity to take RYA recognised training courses and examinations including power boat courses which are run during the summer months. To get your name on the relevant lists contact PO(MW) Andrew Fielding or Martin Peacock on 01436 674321 xtn 3519 or Mil 93255 3519, email - HIGHLAND EXPRESS has replaced Exercise SCOTWEST in 2016 and is being run on Redcoat, a Contessa 38, providing training to RYA standards from Competent Crew to Day Skipper with experience building for potential Day & Coastal Skippers. The sailing area will be mainly on West coast of Scotland based from Oban with delivery legs to and from JSASTC Gosport. This area is ideally located to encompass one of the finest sailing areas in Europe. 2015DIN07-150 refers.

Here we have been very well served by friends in the right places and we have achieved the necessary replacement of the moorings tackle, now ready for use in the new area not too far from our old patch off the Slipway of the Clyde Offsite Centre. There are now eight moorings good to go for this season, and I hope we will see sufficient revenue generated to allow for their maintenance in 2017; if this proves not to be the case, we are again facing hard decisions about just how much RNSA Central wishes to see this service maintained, if indeed we cannot wash our own face locally. Please do get in touch if you wish to take a mooring this year. As ever, the Branch needs greater support! Contact Martin Peacock for further information on prices and availability. Cheapest rates in the local area!!
