About

General

The Royal Marines Sailing Club (RMSC) has been in existence for many years; its aim is to actively promote and develop all aspects of sailing and cruising throughout the Corps.

Yachting

For Yachtsmen, the Club owns a Hallberg-Rassy 342: OCEAN WAVE OF ALBANY (6 Berth).

OCEAN WAVE OF ALBANY is based at Whale Island in Portsmouth and is available for charter to RMSC members (see our charter yacht page on the Benefits tab on the website for more details).

Branch Membership

Any serving or retired Royal Marine can become an RMSC Branch Member. Serving or retired members of organisations that support the Royal Marines may also be eligible to join the RMSC. You can join by paying £30 followed by a £15 per year continued membership fee.. Membership entitles the holder to charter either of the yachts at rates that no civilian charter organisation could come close to matching, as well as offering a rich source of experienced sailors with which to enjoy the sport. As long as there is, one RMSC member onboard, families and friends are more than welcome. Additionally, close ties are maintained with the RNSA and both serving and retired Royal Marines enter into the yachting, dinghy and windsurfing events.
