Portsmouth Windsurfing Club Night

Army Inshore Sailing Training Centre, Thorney Island, Emsworth, Hampshire PO10 8DS Windsurfing

09/09/2019 17:00-20:00

Organiser: Dave Strudwick - Dave.Strudwick786@mod.gov.uk 02392 623522

The Portsmouth windsurfers organise a Club night at the AISTC to allow windsurfers living in and visiting the Portsmouth area the chance to get out on the water and enjoy a summer evenings sail.

The RN Windsurfers have been kindly granted access to the AISTC and its excellent facilities. The centre overlooks a large, flat and safe expanse of Chichester Harbour with rescue boat cover provided, wet suits and buoyancy aids, free parking, showers and changing facilities. The RN Windsurfers have a windsurfing store with beginner, intermediate and, by arrangement, some advanced slalom equipment available, all free of charge.

The Club nights are aimed at windsurfers who have either completed the Start windsurfing course or who can competently sail a triangle course on a board as well as intermediates and advanced sailors.

Taster sessions for those new to the sport and Start beginners courses will be arranged separately and will be advertised on the RNSA website.

There will be advanced windsurfers and RYA instructors available for friendly advice and the aim is to get on the water, sail together, develop and have fun. If the weather is suitable later in the season, BBQs can be organised at the waters edge.

if you are interested, please contact Dave Strudwick or Tom Joyce.

RNAS Yeovilton hold similar Club nights at WPNSA Portland and RNAS Culdrose are investigating using Stithians Lake RYA Centre over the summer as well, details to be promulgated once known.
