Volunteer

Beneteau First 40.7 Portsmouth

Based in Port Solent Marina with immediate access to the Solent. Volunteer is fitted for family cruising but can be fitted for racing. Details, many photos and availability at http://www.volunteeryachting.com

Acquired by Volunteer Yachting Ltd in 2014, primarily for the RNVR YC, she is fully MCA coded as a family cruising yacht. For cruising, the jib is roller reefing and the main has lazy jacks; all lines lead aft.

Designed by Farr Design and built in 2008, the First 40.7 is a racer/cruiser sailboat, with a higher emphasis on racing aspects yet substantially equipped for comfortable cruising. The First 40.7 is equipped with a tall fractional rig, high performance keel and upgraded deck hardware. Volunteer (when previously named Below Zero) won the IRC 1B Round the Island in 2011. For racing, there is a large selection of sails.
