Beneteau First 40.7 Portsmouth

Based in Port Hamble Marina with immediate access to the Solent. Volunteer is fitted for family cruising but can be fitted for racing. Details, many photos and availability at

Acquired by Volunteer Yachting Ltd in 2014, primarily for the RNVRYC, she is a fully MCA coded for offshore sailing (Cat 2). For cruising, the jib is roller reefing and the main has lazy jacks; all lines lead aft.

Designed by Farr Design and built in 2008, the First 40.7 is a racer/cruiser sailboat, which has a race pedigree yet substantially equipped for comfortable cruising.
The First 40.7 is equipped with a tall fractional rig, high performance keel and upgraded deck hardware. Volunteer (when previously named Below Zero) won the IRC 1B Round the Island in 2011 and has competed in many RTIR’s, Cowes weeks and the 2015 Fastnet. For racing, there is a large selection of sails including both Asymetric and Symetrical Spinnakers. She is also fully equipped for comfortable cruising including a small dingy.
