The Bosun Challenge – Raising money for RN&RMC

Central - 20 May 19 General

Following on from his 2016 record-breaking double-handed sail in a Bosun dinghy from Plymouth to Portsmouth via France, Phil Slade is about to repeat the challenge, this time single-handed from Dartmouth to the Channel Islands and back.

He plans to depart from BRNC on Monday 24 June for Guernsey, then to Jersey from where he will return to Dartmouth non-stop, a total distance of about 200 Nm. He will be supported by Contessa 38 yachts crewed by Officer Cadets and yachts from the Britannia Yacht Club.

The aim of the Bosun Challenge is to raise awareness of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity and the work they do supporting serving and retired, RN and RM personnel and their families for life, and to raise funds for this worthy cause. Donations to support Phil’s fantastic voyage can be made via his fundraising page shown in the link below. Every penny donated will go to the Charity.
