RNSA(P) Wednesday Summer Series Race 5

Portsmouth - 24 Jun 19 Offshore

Summer at last! A warm summers evening designed for sailing but with a blustery north easterly of 15/16 knots gusting to 27 to add a bit of interest.

Jolly Jack Tar the SOOD Set a course designed for fast asymetrics, ooops there was only one, of a close kite reach to Browndown, a long fetch against the tide to North Sturbridge, a dead run to Kemps Quay and a close hauled leg back to the finish. JJT wasted no time in dashing to the front and won by a comfortable margin. Danegeld however revelled in the conditions and came in a worthy second.

The Series organiser is off on his annual pilgrimage to Spain and will not be available to calculate and post results next Wednesday. However IRC results will be calculated and emailed to competitors by Kit Buck on Tinker T. The NHC results need access to the results software and therefore will have to await my return. On the plus side my daughters inform me that whenever I disappear abroad the weather improves dramatically in UK - so enjoy!
