RNSA(P) Dinghies James Cup Race 2

Portsmouth - 11 Jul 19 Dinghies

Dinghy sailors get afloat for a second evening of races in the James Cup series

Three Portsmouth sailors took part in this evening’s racing. All chose to race RNSA owned Fusions from the RN Sailing Centre. Conditions were ideal with Force 3-4 Westerly winds and High water at 2000 allowing racing to take place on a triangular course over the mud just to the west of Whale Island.

The first 2 races (which go towards the James Cup) were close fought affairs between Coral Crouch (MBS) and Dom Jacobs (DNTL) with the latter emerging narrowly victorious in both races and Charlotte Burman (SULTAN) in 3rd. Race 3 included a ‘player handicap’ system to level the playing field and was won convincingly by Charlotte. The final race consisted of a short beat then run back to the sailing centre.

If you want to get racing then there are plenty of opportunities to do so - see the website and Facebook pages for details and book your boat via Get away from your desk and come sailing!
