RC (Cruising) - 14 Oct 19 Cruising

Five year return of Dunkirk Little Ships to Dunkirk.

Preliminary Calling Notice May 2020

May 2020 is the 80th anniversary of the evacuation of Dunkirk. Members of the British Expedition force and French colleagues were evacuated from the Calais and Dunkirk region.
Oft described as the Miracle of Dunkirk.
Churchill referred to a colossal military disaster, saying "the whole root and core and brain of the British Army” had been stranded at Dunkirk and seemed about to perish or be captured. Operation Dynamo commenced 338226 Allied troops evacuated. The English Channel rarely behaved for very long. For nine days the Channel was a mill pond. Calm sea was essential.
Every five years the Association of Dunkirk Little Ships (ADLS) make a commemorative return. Each year more of the remaining Little Ships are being refitted and re fettled to make the crossing with RN and RNLI escorts.
