RNSA Moorings/Berths available in Plymouth area

Plymouth - 09 May 16 General

New moorings have become available at Jupiter Point. These will be allocated by ballot on 21 May 16. The draw for future allocation of the Mayflower Marina berths will take place on 13 Jun 16. Application required for both. See detail below:

Jupiter Point Moorings – Immediate availability and waiting list

There are 4 moorings at Jupiter Point that have now become available for allocation by the Plymouth Branch. The berths will be for 3 year tenure with all fees paid directly to HMS Raleigh. Three berths are currently occupied but will be allocated when they are vacated or after a maximum of 3 years. Berths cannot be sub-let and failure to take up the berth will result in re-allocation by the Branch Committee and removal of applicant from the waiting list subject to re-application.
Allocation of the remaining mooring and a waiting list will be derived from a draw. Applications for this mooring and to go on the waiting list must be with RNSA Plymouth by 20 May 16. The draw will take place on 21 May 16. Where possible priority will be given to Serving Personnel.
Only current RNSA members will be entered into the draw and only boats owned by members will be accepted.
Applications by email to: ray_bailey@talktalk.net
The following charges and conditions apply. The charges are £30 for insurance cost, £50 for the license fee and the mooring fee is £228 per annum for a vessel 7 –12 meters. All cheques are made payable to “The Accounting Officer MOD” and are sent to the Jupiter Point River Officer for payment into HMS Raleigh UPO. JP is responsible for the buoy and ground tackle. Tenders can be secured on our pontoons in a dedicated area. When personnel require access they inform the office here at JP and the gate staff are made aware of their entry/exit requirements. If it is a short stay then cars may be parked (at the risk of the owner) at JP, however, anything over a weekend/couple of days then vehicles will have to be parked elsewhere.

Mayflower Marina Berths – allocation from 2017

The RNSA has use of 2 berths in Mayflower Marina that are available for 6 months (normally April to September). The current charge (subject to annual adjustment), payable to RNSA Plymouth Branch by 1 December in the year before taking up the berth, is £650 for 6 months. Allocation is from a waiting list that is generated from a draw. The draw for allocation from 2017 onwards will take place on 13 Jun 16 at the Plymouth Branch meeting. Applications are required by Friday 10 Jun 16. Berths cannot be sub-let and failure to take up the berth will result in re-allocation by the Branch Committee and removal of applicant from the waiting list subject to re-application. To ensure that the benefit of these berths can be enjoyed by as many members as possible the draw will be conducted in the following manner:

All applicants that have not previously been allocated one of these berths in the last 5 years will be placed in the first draw. Two places will be allocated for 2017, 2018, 2019 etc.
Other applicants will be placed in the second draw and will be added to the waiting list in the order that they come out of the draw.
Future applicants will be added to the bottom of the waiting list in date order.
The allocation list will be published on the RNSA web site and individual notified. Only current RNSA members will be entered into the draw and only boats owned by that member will be accepted.
Applications by email to: ray_bailey@talktalk.net
I am aware that several members have already applied. There is no need to submit again.
