RNSA Windsurfing Festival to be held 10-11 Jun 17

RC (Windsurfing) - 11 May 17 General

The RNSA Windsurfers will be holding the annual RNSA Windsurfing Festival at Calshot Activities Centre 10-11 Jun 17. The event provides instruction and fun windsurfing and Stand Up Paddle sessions for all the family

Fun, family Windsurfing event to include taster sessions, coaching, fun racing and evening social. Exclusive waterside Family Camping or B&B available.

The Royal Navy Windsurfers will be organising a Joint Service Windsurfing Festival at the purpose built Calshot Watersports Centre near Southampton. Calshot offers great conditions for beginners all the way through to expert sailors. Calshot is a 45 minute drive from the Portsmouth/Fareham area, so is easily commutable daily if you must get back, but why not extend the adventure and Camp by the waterside or take advantage of the on-site Bed and Breakfast?

The plan is to provide a day of fun on the water for all ages and abilities from beginners and intermediates to experts. The following is planned:

1. Instruction - Boards, rigs, wetsuits and boyancy aids provided

2. Taster sessions - Want to give windsurfing a go in a safe area with friends and someone to give advice, but don't want a full course? Now is the time.

3. Stand Up Paddle - Great for all the family, there will be SUP available with instruction (TBC)

4. Intermediates - Want to progress your waterstarts, using a harness, footstraps and planing? We hope to have the Inter-Services Windsurfing Champion, ex-Olympic Team sailor Tom Eskdale on hand to provide bespoke coaching and advice to intermediates and above.

5. Demo Kit - There will be some of the latest kit available to try, made available by the local 4Boards windsurf shop.

6. Fun races - a mix of Windsurf, SUP and relay races for all the family to join in.

7. Saturday Night BBQ - Charcoal BBQ facilities will be available for you to bring your own food and eat together.

8. Safety cover provided by qualified RNSA Safety crews
